CDL-A Truck Driver
Sommerset Paving is seeking a full-time, experienced CDL-A truck driver for our rapidly growing, seasonal asphalt paving business (May-Nov.). For local projects: Washtenaw County, Wayne County, Detroit, Oakland County, and Livingston County; no overnights.
Requirements
- MUST have prior experience, a clean driving record and references which will be checked. Great pay rate will be determined by previous experience; the more you have, the better the pay.
- Hard working and willing to help the crew, NOT just sitting in the truck between asphalt load pick ups and drop offs
- Reliable
- Punctual
- Flexible (work overtime -- nights and Saturdays as needed)
- Able to meet all safety requirements/policies
- Mandatory Pre-employment and random drug testing

Construction Sales Representative
Responsibilities
- Present, promote and sell our asphalt/concrete paving services using solid arguments to existing and prospective commercial and residential clients
- Establish, develop, maintain positive relationships with customers/co-workers
- Reach out to customers provided by our excellent, established lead system and through cold calling; and tracking all results
- Achieve and surpass agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule
- Perform cost-benefit and needs analysis of existing/potential clients
- Analyze the market’s potential, track sales and status reports
- Expedite the resolution of client’s complaints to maximize satisfaction
- Keep abreast of the latest technology and equipment
- Supply management reports on client needs, problems, competitors, and new services potential
- Willingness to continuously improve through management’s feedback
Requirements
- Proven, documented work experience as a sales representative
- Ability to build productive professional relationships
- Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales
- Excellent selling, communication and negotiation skills
- Prioritizing, time management and organizational abilities
- Create and deliver presentations specific to the customer’s needs
- Relationship management skills
- Openness to constructive criticism and feedback from management

Asphalt Roller Operator
We are in our busy season and in need of an Asphalt Roller Operator with prior experience.
Responsibilities
- Inspecting, cleaning, maintaining equipment
- Reporting equipment malfunctions to supervisors
- Operating machines to spread, smooth, level, or steel-reinforce stone, concrete, or asphalt
- Cleaning & preparing job site
- Lifting up to 50 lbs., walk & stand for long periods & perform strenuous physical labor
- Maintaining a clean job site, picking up tools & equipment to eliminate potential hazards
- Must be able to meet all safety requirements/policies
- Misc. general labor tasks as assigned
